Submissions are now open for Black History Month 2023 programme in Scotland!

This article was first published by Black History Month Scotland.

Black History Month programming started in Scotland over 20 years ago and has grown from strength to strength. Rooted in the solidarity of the anti-racist movement, Black History Month is a time to campaign and raise awareness on issues of Black history and present day racism. This includes highlighting the histories and legacies of empire, colonialism and slavery that continue to shape Scottish society.

At the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER), we have had the privilege of working with a range of partners from across the community, voluntary and public sector to put together a Black History Month Programme over the years.

CRER are now calling for submissions for this year’s Black History Month programme.

The deadline for submitting events is Friday 14th July.
