South Australian Museum restructure on hold as state government launches review

A planned restructure of the South Australian Museum has been put on hold by the state government, amid protests and concerns about its future direction.

The proposed “reimagining” of the museum received public backlash and concern about research and projects, as well as the repatriation of First Nations ancestral remains. 

What’s next? The three-person panel will consult with key stakeholders and make recommendations as early as June.
