The ‘Safeguarding and Rescuing Archaeological Assets’ online course is now available Open Access via the British Institute At Ankara (BIAA) Digital Repository. The course, the first of its kind for Türkiye, combines theoretical and practical knowledge on the protection of archaeological assets. It is divided into 5 parts, covering ‘Introduction and General Framework’, ‘Disaster and Emergency Situations in Museums and Archaeological Sites’, ‘After Disaster: Recovery and Rehabilitation’, ‘Practical Skills’ and ‘Heritage Assets of Turkey’.

At any time, you can download the course materials to your computer, tablet or phone, and watch online videos covering topics ranging from disaster and risk management to emergency preparedness for cultural heritage. The course is freely available for anyone, but is particularly aimed at those with an educational background in archaeology, museology, art history, cultural heritage, history, conservation, architecture, urban planning and tourism, as well as professionals working in fields related to cultural assets.
