Online Report Launch: Culture-based Climate Action

This article was first published by the British Council.

Launching in October, a new British Council-commissioned report by KEA European Affairs explores the growing role of culture in responding to the climate crisis.

To mark the report’s launch, join us online on Wednesday 28 October 2026 for one of two webinars, bringing the report’s findings into dialogue with practitioners, policymakers, cultural leaders and artists working at the intersection of culture and climate action.

Drawing on international research, case studies and expert perspectives, the report, Culture-based Climate Action: Mapping the Global Evidence from COP26 to COP30, examines how artists, cultural organisations and creative practitioners are contributing to climate action worldwide, while highlighting key challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

The webinars will explore key themes emerging from the research, including creative climate action, Indigenous and local knowledge, cultural heritage resilience, policy development, financing and community-led approaches.

Speakers will share insights from their own work and reflect on the role culture can play in addressing one of the defining challenges of our time.
