ICOM UK represents ICOM members in the four nations comprising the UK and the UK’s overseas territories. The ICOM UK Board currently includes trustees representing Scotland, Northern Ireland and England. The positions of representatives for Wales and territories currently considered as British Overseas Territories are currently available. We are therefore looking for two new trustees, one each based in Wales and in territories currently considered as British Overseas Territories; the role of the latter would include exploring the concept of overseas territories and terminology surrounding it.
We always strive to diversify the Board to ensure a broad representation of members. At the moment, we are looking especially for trustees who are emerging professionals, representatives of under-represented groups, have environmental sustainability expertise, and work in local or independent museums or as freelancers.
This is a particularly exciting time to join the ICOM UK Board. We updated our strategy, governance, structure and administration processes. This development is almost complete, and with a strong board with a great mix of skills we are ready to move forward. As a trustee, you would have an opportunity to shape ICOM UK’s direction and projects and contribute your experience to the benefit of our members.
If you are interested in applying to be a trustee for ICOM UK, please contact membership@icomuk.org by Monday 6 May.
