We’ve received an overwhelming response to the three Reimagining Museums for Climate Action workshops this month. The final workshop takes place at the end of this month.
Workshop 3 – Monday 30 May, 17:00 – 18:30 BST (UK time)
Please only register for ONE workshop. If you have attended one of the previous workshops this month, please do not register again. Each workshop is the same.
The workshop will not be recorded. Places are limited so please only register if you are able to attend and participate.
In 2021, the UK hosted COP26, the UN Climate Change conference. The importance of a wide range of sectors, specifically including museums, cultural and educational institutions, was recognised once more. What is climate action? How can we take part in it in our museums? How can we empower people to know, care and act on climate change, and what tools, frameworks and opportunities can we draw upon?
Climate action can seem complicated, but it can be really simple. This workshop is an opportunity for you to explore recent work on climate action through museums and to take part in discussions to share your own approaches and to learn from one another’s experiences. No experience of climate action is required.
This live and interactive workshop will draw on the Museums for Climate Action project, which produced an exhibition at COP26, website, book and practical toolkit for museum workers.
The workshop will be led by Henry McGhie of Curating Tomorrow, part of the Museums for Climate Action team and a member of the ICOM Sustainability Working Group.
This workshop has been developed as a partnership between UCL and ICOM UK.
Museums for Climate Action is supported by the AHRC.
