Announcing the Ukrainian translation of ‘Supporting Decolonisation in Museums: Focus on Ukraine’

ICOM UK members and their colleagues are invited to an online launch of the Ukrainian translation of Supporting Decolonisation in Museums: Focus on UkraineOriginally written in English, this new translation makes the guide accessible to a wider audience.

This ground-breaking publication is the result of an international partnership project, initiated by the Ukrainian Institute and developed in collaboration with ICOM UKICOM Ukraine, the Museums Association and supported by the British Council.

The hybrid event – held in Kyiv and online – will present an opportunity to consider the significance of the Guide for cultural institutions in Ukraine, the UK and beyond, and to reflect on the role of museums, galleries, archives, libraries and other memory institutions in fostering a more accurate, inclusive and responsible representation of Ukraine’s cultural heritage. The Guide positions Ukraine in solidarity with a global network of decolonisation struggles.
