AI in Museum Social Media Practice – International study

This article was first published by Museum Social Media Cultures Research Network.

This website hosts an international research project exploring how museum professionals experience the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in social media and digital communication.

We are interested in how AI is used in everyday practice, how it is perceived, and how it shapes communication, trust, and institutional voice.

The study is designed in two stages:

  1. Online survey (5-10 minutes): the survey explores current practices, perceptions, and experiences of AI in museum social media and digital communication. Take the survey:https://bit.ly/3OgWzHp
  2. Follow-up interview study: At the end of the survey, participants may indicate their interest in taking part in a follow-up interview. These interviews are designed to explore experiences in greater depth, allowing us to understand how AI is used and negotiated within specific professional and institutional contexts.
