Decolonistion in Museums: Focus on Ukraine front cover text

The Ukrainian Institute, ICOM UK and Project Partners Release a new Museum Guide on Ukraine

ICOM UK is pleased to announce the launch of a new Guide to the cultural heritage of Ukraine.

Supporting Decolonisation in Museums: Focus on Ukraine is the result of an international partnership project, initiated by the Ukrainian Institute and developed in collaboration with ICOM UK, ICOM Ukraine (the United Kingdom and Ukraine national committees of the International Council of Museums) and the Museums Association, supported by the British Council.

ICOM UK played a major role in developing and delivering the new Guide by acting as the grant administrator, project coordinator and lead writer. Almost three years in the making and with around 100 participants, it is truly a work of co-creation and international collaboration.

You are invited to join an online celebration to mark the launch of the Guide on 21 July 2025 at 13:00 UK time (15:00 Ukraine time) via Teams. It will be a chance to hear from the project partners and contributors and to ask questions about the Guide. Everyone is welcome to join but please register in advance via this link: Register here.
