MuseumsCamp 2025: The Future of Museums

This article was first published by MuseumsCamp.

MuseumsCamp is an in-person event held at the Birmingham & Midland Institute to bring together people interested in museums and collections to share ideas, opportunities and network.

The event will be run in the style of an unconference / open space conference. This means that the attendees will set the agenda on the day. Everyone has the power to make the day what it is, rather than it being programmed by the organisers.

“The sum of the expertise of the people in the audience is greater than the sum of the expertise of the people on stage.” Dave Viner, writing about unconferences.

During the first hour, anyone can pitch their idea, problem or discussion topic. The programme for the day is created from votes in the room, and times and rooms will then be allocated.

Participants can attend any session and can choose to switch sessions.
