As we approach the membership renewal period, we are thrilled to announce several exciting new benefits that will enhance your ICOM UK member experience. We want to take a moment to share these updates with you.
New Membership Benefits include:
- Automatic Membership Renewal: we introduced an automatic renewal option for your convenience. This feature ensures uninterrupted access to all member benefits and saves you time each year. Once you have applied for your 2025 membership, your future renewals will be automatic.
- Weekly Sector News: stay informed with our Weekly Newsletter, delivering the latest sector updates directly to your inbox.
- New Bursaries Offer: we are proud to announce a new and better resourced bursary programme to support professional development for our members. The redeveloped scheme will offer small responsive bursaries as well as larger core awards aligned with our strategic aims. More details on how to apply for these will follow soon in the membership portal.
- New Working Groups: we are establishing additional Working Groups to foster collaboration and innovation within our community, and to help take forward our strategy on the core themes of Decolonisation, Sustainability, and Heritage Protection. These Working Groups will be comprised of both trustees and members to ensure a diversity of skills and better member involvement in our projects.
- Subsidised access to our annual conference on 1 and 2 May 2025 in Liverpool on the theme ‘Regenerative Museums for Sustainable Futures.’ Further details on the programme and registration will be announced soon.
The membership portal for renewals is open now!
We are working hard to ensure the package of membership benefits remains appealing and are confident that membership continues to represent good value for money. But, for the first time in seven years, fees for ICOM UK membership will increase, principally to cover administrative costs that have continued to rise over this extended period. Following your input through our 2024 Members Survey, we managed to keep the fee increase below 10% for most membership categories; we aligned the cost of Student membership with that of Retired members.
