Free-to-attend Workshops – Towards Digital Collections

This article was first published by Towards Digital Collections.

The Towards Digital Collections resources have been created with small and medium-sized GLAM institutions in mind to help those thinking about, starting or continuing their journey towards digitisation and making collections online.

We invite anyone working within the GLAM sector and with an interest in digital collections, to join us – the sessions aim to offer both a general introduction to the online course, as well as discuss and find out from attendees about training requirements, and ask whether the content meets these needs and how we could bring improvements to it in the future.

Some of the team responsible for developing these training materials will be running four in-person workshops (Dr Megan Gooch and Damon Strange to name two), as well as one online session over the next few months.

Each event will include a guest speaker who will offer insight on a related topic of interest, linked to training/learning/development within a GLAM or Cultural Heritage organisation, or the sector more widely.

The events will take between 10:30 – 15:30, and lunch and refreshments will be provided.

We kick-start the new year with the first of four in-person events.
