Developing and delivering a multilingual narrative

In the House of European History’s permanent exhibition, no text labels and panels can be found. All interpretative text is available through a multimedia tablet in the 24 languages of the European Union. How has multilingualism been embedded in the development process of the exhibition? What processes and tools were used? How can other museums developing multilingual interpretative tools and programmes apply our experiences in their work?

Participants in this training will discuss, reflect and share practices on the use of multiple languages in a museum, including processes of translation, conceiving, developing and delivering content. The training is especially targeted at museum curators and educators developing exhibitions and programmes in multilingual
contexts.
