The BIAA-led Safeguarding Archaeological Assets of Turkey (SARAT) project aims to increase knowledge, capacity and awareness in relation to protecting Turkey’s archaeological assets.  It does this by implementing a range of activities including conducting the country’s first public opinion poll investigating the relationship between archaeology and the public, developing an online course for heritage-related professionals and organising workshops for journalists and antiquities collectors.

This event will share the results of the 3-year SARAT project and discuss its potential to serve as a replicable template for similar initiatives.  ICOM UK was the UK partner in this projected funded by the British Council Cultural Protection Fund.

The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception.
