Resources

The Working Internationally Regional Project (WIRP) is funded by Arts Council England’s Museum Resilience Fund. It is led by ICOM UK in partnership with the National Museum Directors' Council (NMDC), the British Council, and Heritage Without Borders (HWB).

The aim of the WIRP is to develop the long-term capacity for regional and local museums and galleries to work internationally. This will be achieved through developing the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence of those embarking on international work.

Museums and galleries can participate and gain maximum benefit from the programme by:

  • Attending regional workshops to develop the skills and confidence to work internationally.
  • Accessing a wealth of information on working internationally through the online resources and case studies on the ICOM UK website.
  • Applying for a small international travel grant to develop an international partnership or project.

The WIRP will run until April 2017. Workshops will take place each year between September and January
