Rana Ibrahim, Front of House Assistant, Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum travels to Iraq with ICOM UK – British Council Travel Grant

Rana Ibrahim, Front of House Assistant at Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum travelled to Baghdad, Iraq with an ICOM UK – British Council Travel Grant.

Rana left Iraq in 2003 because of the war and this was her first visit since she left.  The Travel Grant enabled her to develop research for Iraqi Women, War and Art, a project Rana is developing that she eventually hopes will be an online/touring exhibition that tells women’s war stories through handmade objects.

You can read the full report from Rana’s visit on the ICOM UK website: http://uk.icom.museum/resources/case-studies/soldiers-of-oxfordshire-museum-visit-baghdad-iraq/
