Our new Chair, Tonya Nelson, is part of the team at DCMS that is exploring how the cultural sector can use digital to expand and improve its offer. The #CultureisDigital project stems from the DCMS commitment in the Culture White Paper to review the digitisation of our public collections and enhance online cultural experiences.
Specifically, the project looks at how culture and digital technology can work together to drive audience engagement, unleash the creative potential and boost the resilience of cultural and heritage organisations.
Tonya would like to invite ICOM UK members to contribute ideas. An online consultation platform has been launched here: cultureisdigital.uk. More information, including a video by the new Culture Minister John Glen, can be found here: http://dcmsblog.uk/2017/07/cultureisdigital-have-your-say/
